Dear Sir, my daughter scored 99.52 %tile in MHT CET PCM. Based on previous years cutoff she may not get CSE in COEP, may get CSE in PICT in Cap round 3. Ans: Only 660 seats are there for CSE, fight for it but then be prepared for other branches too at VIT Chennai. Else try CSE at Mahindra/CBIT.

My daughter is studying 7th class. What is the right class to start preparing for JEE/NEET. Some institutes start as early as class 6. Bit confused and not sure if that is right. If class 7 is right time please suggest how to get the foundation right any books or approach to start with

Ans: It's not that they should start from class 6 or 7. Preparing for NEET/JEE shouldn't be taken so seriously that it reflects on the children as some monstrous thing.
As parents we can do this,
1. Don't let them know that they are preparing for some exam.
2. Give them the subjects in such a way that they understand the concepts and develop capability to apply the knowledge to solve problems.
Start these two activities as early as possible, maybe from standard 6.
By the time they complete their 10th they would have realised the importance of subjects indigenously.
And that's where you can start feeding him with the different crucial materials required for NEET/JEE.

My daughter secured 60% in 12th Science, NEET 62.2 Percentile, MHCET PCB 83 Percentile and PCM 54% percentile in which field admission to be taken

Ans: By analysing all the marks that you have put forth shows she's little low performing in Math.
But 62.2 in NEET (please provide score) is commendable.
She is made for non-Math groups or branches of study. Still talk to her if she wants to improve her math skills for a year and then move forward or move ahead now with whatever subjects knowledge available.
Participate in the NEET and MH State counselling and choose your fav course.

Hello Sir, I need guidance on further career options. I have completed my MA in Clinical Psychology last year (2023) I am currently 26 (01/06/1998). I have always wanted to be a doctor, though I do love the field of Psychology too and already working as a Psychologist, but I still am getting that urge to attempt NEET in 2025, I just gave one NEET attempt after my 12th in 2016, but I was going through severe life threatening health challenges and so I had to take a drop of 2 years after 12th to look after my health, and I was also advised against going for MBBS by my doctors as I was not in a state to handle mental or physical stress, but now I feel like doing MBBS. Should I go for it, or should I go for Mphil in Clinical Psychology. I always wanted to work in hospitals and provide treatment to everyone.

Ans: What would you prefer "passion" or "money" or both "passion and money before you age"? Think about this and act accordingly.

Ans: Hi Dinesh.
Your suggestion should depend on your financial status (current and future both) only. Your son is quite grown up to decide for himself, because he knows his status quo, as he has come to the capacity of reaching upto VIT(CSE).
If he decides to go in for coaching outside, it's better to join Amrita/VIT otherwise you get some more time to gather resources for his better future.
If he takes a drop and chooses self-study then encourage that and get his some standard books to prepare.
Talk to him about how much of syllabus he has covered by last year, and go ahead with drop(if it's > 60%).

Ans: MSc Data Science will involve studying the whole depth (horizontal and vertical) of this Science, which is of course very exciting and involving. Future prospects are too bright in this area of Research, so going into this won't go waste. There is so much more to be done in Data Science (basis for AI and ML), who knows he might end up finding new idea or method or algorithm through his research interest. MSc Data Science will be a good choice if your son is a philosophical person with lot of curiosity to explore and discover and invent.
Else the run-of-the-mill course BE(ECE) is a good choice but that branch of study also requires perseverance.

Ans: If you can afford the cost of education at these private institutions, then why waste a year as time is precious.
But if you have craze for NIT/IIT and if you are determined to crack it next year (which should be decided on the basis of how much of the syllabus is thorough), then you can take a drop (rate yourself on a scale of 10) if your rating is 6/10 then go ahead take a drop.

Ans: Based on the established year PES (2005) and VIT-AP (2017). A new organization usually does better work than the older ones in order to establish well and faster. But the older ones have already crossed that stage and the infrastructure is very strong. We as a sensitive student should look for proper labs, a full fledged functioning library with huge number of references, a good number of teaching faculty, community centres, etc so we can flourish as a universally valuable human.
And even if it is equally good then why choose a far place when have that in your own city.
